-Lettre du 20 janvier 1679 (de Lyon) : « Je ne suis point d’humeur de faire un livre pour de semblables bagatelles (nb : critiques de La Guilletière = Georges Guillet de Saint-Georges), mais peut-être que j’y ferai (mention ?) dans deux ou 3 pages, que je prierai l’abbé de la Roque d’insérer dans le Journal des Savans. J’y avouerai de bonne foi les fautes que j’ai faites, mais je ne trahirai pas lâchement la vérité. S’il s’en prend aux antiquaires en général, il en trouvera de plus habiles que moi qui rabattront bien son caquet, quand ce ne serait que M.
