-Lettre du 4 octobre 1699 (de Bruxelles) : « Si le chagrin d'El Bizarro vient de ce qu'il me trouve trop de vos amis, il me fait trop d'honneur et beaucoup de plaisir. [...] J'ai rangé les médailles qui sont au nombre de près de trois mille. Remarques de Guy Meyer : Je rappelle qu'El Bizzaro est Jean Foy-Vaillant. Apparemment, Vaillant nourrissait une sorte de jalousie vis-à-vis de Thoynard quant à l'affection de Du Bos à l'égard de ce dernier. Dans la lettre à Graevius, datée du 20 décembre 1699, il évalue la collection à environ deux mille trois cents monnaies. (fr)
