He presumes that O. will by now have received the last edition of my Cat line orations; and you will soon get the five Tusculana, with a treatise on Sardanapolus apropos of the inscription on his tomb mentioned by Cicero. He despairs of seeing the late Brenkman’s work on the Pandects. He failed to find in O’s. parcel his book attacking Pauw’s Aristaenetus. I do not think much of Maffei’s Italian translation of the Iliad; he should keep to, antiquities which are his metier; is M. persevering with his collection of inscriptions?
