France is producing no literature apart from histories of which he instances two first volumes of a great collection of French historians and a forthcoming collection of curious pieces concerning the history of Charles IX: a book on the science of medals by the Jesuit Joubert with remarks by Mons. de la Bastie of the academy of inscriptions; and several other works, e.g., on antiquities. He would like to know whether Changuyon will undertake to reprint my other translations which he has already printed, with the addition of those of the Pervigilium Veneris.
