Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

Lettre du 27 jan. 1745 (de Dijon): Abstract: He complains of the negligence of booksellers in not attending to commissions for dispatch of parcels. He refers to a treatise on some medal by Comte de Thoms, a man of consequence, as having married the daughter of the celebrated Boerhaare, who is said to have left 4 millions of our money. He would like to procure the different readings of Plutarch’s treatise an Isis and Osiris. All agree with you on the blunders and negligence in Muratori’s new collection of Inscriptions. He is delighted to have had from O. the two Greek inscriptions corrected by O. taken from Richard Pococke’s journey. He follows on with very recondite notes on inscriptions found on the statue, of Memnon given in Muratori’s collections, and a Greek inscription from the extract he had seen from Pococke’s journey. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS D’Orville 492 f° 143-144).
