-Lettre du 17 décembre 1757 (de Rome): „Vor einiger Zeit kauft ein junger Mahler von einem Bauer für etliche Bajocchi 2 Sicilianische Münzen mit 2 köpfen die wunderbar und gottlich schön sind. Der eine ist ein kopf des Hiero von Syrakus, folglich ist die Münze vor dem Phidias gemacht“ (Rehm, I 1952, n° 200, p. 323; Callataÿ 2007, p. 592)..
