21 August 1785 (from Brussels): “Hebbe vernomen uyt U. E. aangenaemen in dato 15 deser, dat het revers van U. E. koperen Pertinax voor legende heeft AEQVITAS. AVG. TR. P. COS. II, en dus verschillende is van de gene die in de voorlede eeuwe zijn nagemaakt geweest. Wensche zeer, dat onder de 100 Romeynsche médailles die U. E. als nu verwacht, of mogelijk reeds ontvangen heeft, is het niet vele, immers eenige mogen zijn die aan U. E. Pertinax niet moeten wycken. Aangaende de boeken welke dienstig konnen zyn voor eenen liefhebber in de Numismatique, zoude ik voor al U. E. aenraden te koopen La science des médailles par le P. Joubert, eerste editie, a twee à dry schellingen; of de tweede met de annotatien van den Baron de la Bastide à 20 ja 24 schellingen. Het Museum Vindobonense, twee grroote volumina in folio, à 25 of 30 guld., alle de werken van Mr Pellerin in 4to, à 5 of ses guldens par volume. Hedendagsche penningkunde door van Loon, s’Hage 1732 in fol. 6 à 7 guld. Huberto Golzii opera omnia numismatica, 15 à 16 guld. //Liebe Gotha numaria in fol. 6 à 7 gld.// Thesaurus Morellianus familiarum Romanorum, Amsterdam 1734, in folio 2 volumes 14 à 15 guld. Le Blanc Traité historique des monnaies de France, 6 à 7 guld. Gelieve my te melden of U. E. heft myne Dissertatio over de médailles, uytgegeven in quarto tegen de Heer Poinsinet de Sivry; zoo nite, zal de zelve aan U. E. met occasie gratis toezenden.
