Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

3 Dec. 1587 (from Antwerp): “Si tamen ante precatus te fuero ut ad me deferri ea omnia cures quae vel penes te servas vel aliis commisisti, facies enim rem mihi longe gratissimam, majorem etiam initurus gratiam si quid a viro illo summon Antonio Agustino, cujus sancta mihi memoria est, addideris. Cum ante annos XXXV adolescens primum venissem Romam, per Octavum Pantagatum, Basilium Zanchium, Gabrielem Faernum (quique solus adhuc superset), Joannem Metellum in amicitiam ejus admissus sum [...] Nam praeter antique illa quae Romae scripsit nihil vidi, eo excepto commentario quem de familiis Romanorum suo Antiquorum numismatum libro Fulvio Ursinus adjunxit” (Royal Library of Belgium, Ms. 15704 Epistolae Laeuini Torrentii, f° 185, p. 125-126; see Delcourt & Hoyoux 1953, II, no. 359, p. 127).
