5 Jan. 1623 (from Paris): “Ciò che V. S. mi manda della liberalità del Sr Rockox intorno alle medaglie gotiche, mi pone un martello per non sapere che scambio io gliene possi mandare, mi bastarebbe la vista degli impronti per non desassortire il mio studio. Vorrei ben sapere se fra le medaglie d’oro del Duca d’Arschot o del detto Sr Rockox non se ne sonno di quelle minuti simili a quelle che si sogliono trovare sotto il nome d’Anastasio et di Justino et altri imperatori di quel secolo ma con nomi barbari o non convenevoli alli imperatori Romano, et se c’e in quantita o nó, et se sene potrebbe haver un poco di nota o inventario” (Carpentras, Bibliothèque et Musée Inguimbert, Minutes et copies des lettres de Peiresc, V, 688 v°; Rooses et Ruelens III 1900, no. 304, p. 107).
