1 Sept. 1590 (from Rome): “Ick soude wel willen dat V. L. eens een cleijn listken over sondt, van de medallen die hij heeft medt steden provincien oft rivieren. Ick heb hier lestmael gevonden drij schoone Antoninus coper, van eender groote, den Schijthia etc. soo V. L. hier sien mach in dit ingelijt papierken, maer hij wilder vijf gulden vande drij hebben, soo heb ic de looten daeraff gehouden. Mij geeft wonder dat V. L. op sijne antijxsche Spagnen niet en heefet gestelt numisma Hispaniae sedentis cum cuniculo, et in Germania tabula Germaniae stantis tijpum cum pelta Germanica (drawing). Ick sal V. L. noch sommighe disegno van Siscia Probi Aug. ende van Germania senden, want de looten daeraff soo niet te crijghen en sijn” (Leiden, Universiteitsbibliotheek Leiden, MS BPL 2766 ; Hessels 1887, no. 185, p. 445).
