Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

-Lettre du 6 janvier 1795 (de Wilmington, Kent): From the magazine he has learnt of the late Mr. Knight’s valuable collection of medals and coins. If they were inherited from his father Mr. Pegge must have often inspected them. By his will Mr. Austin is to have the reversion of all his estates (supposed to he Knight’s illegitimate son), but the seats of Godmersham and Chawton are devised to the widow for life. (Oxford, Bodleian Library, MS Gough Gen. Top. 39, f° 63-64).
