'Yours [Courten’s letter] of ye 12th I wellcome as my Valentine to day, for I must owne Medalls are now become my Mistress, and afford me the best of pleasure. ... I am not yett fit for the foreigne plantations or the Greek colonys, having been so well intertained by you on the Latine shore amongst Emperors and Consulls. [Discusses late Roman inc.
