Grand documentOriginal passage from the "Grand document".

-Letter of 1 May 1649 (from Nijmegen to Westminster): "Nicolaus Heinsius redux, et litteris et coram nuper Leydae mihi indicavit, de Florentina collectione se nondum transegisse. Spes eius etsi nondum omnino decollavit, vacillat tamen, quantum conjicio. Centum amplius scutatos supra auri pretium obtulerat nequ’ tamen responsum acceperat" (Nicolaus Heinsius is back, and from letters and a recent encounter in Leiden he has informed me that he has not yet concluded the matter of the Florence collection. Although he has not yet completely severed his hopes, nevertheless he is hesitating as far as I can tell. He offered a hundred scudi more than the price of the gold, but has not yet received a reply) (British Library, MS Harley 376, f.163v)
