10 August 1623 (from Paris): “Non bisogna omettere d’avisare V. S. che volsi fare improntare ultimamente une mezza dozzina delle medaglie dello scatolino, accio che se con questa contaggione corresse qualche rischio dello scatolino, non fossi frustrato al meno delli impronti ma si come non m’era stato sicuro ne lecito d’impiegarvi alcuno improntatore di que che solevano far destramente, cosi mi riusci pessimamente l’opera di colui a cui haveva ricorso di maniera che volendo consignare lo scatolino al Sr Ferrarino, prima che sigillarlo io mi diedi una licenza forzi degna di grandissimo biasimo sendomi risoluto di ritenere appresso di me tre medagliette d’argento di quelle mezzane barbare che hanno certi scoffioni in testa assai bizzarri et fra le piccioline di metallo cavate da quelle che non erano state appreciate dal Sr Rockox ne tolsi altre l’una delle quali di Laodicea con la teste d’Attido delle quali io voglio mandare un impronto al Sr Pignorio, con la buona gratia delle S. S. V. V. et quando per disgratia, il Sr di Lausone non effectuasse la promessa, mi sara facilissime di rimandarle tutte sei fidelmente et securamente a V. S. di Provenza, di che bisognera che siamo risoluto assai a buon hora per haver tempo di rimandarle a V.
