'Of the Roman coins yt relate o Britain, I have one of Hadrian in his 3d consulship with BRITANNIA very fair upon it, another of Antoninus Pius with BRITANNIA COS IIII. both by order of the Senate, two of Commodus (one of Copper ye othr of Silver) whereupon he is stiled BRITannicus, one of Caracalla with the like flattering Title, of Postumus with the Trireme, & Carausius’s Pax Aug, both wch are said to refer to this land, & Allectus’s 2L for Londinensis, one of Constantius wn Caesar with LON, another divo Constantio PLN of Helena with PLON, of Maximinus both wn Caesar & Augustus with PLN of Constantine the Great, with ye like wn Caesar, & with PLON wn Augustus, of Crispus with PLC & PLON of Constantinus jun 2 different with PLON of Constantius the younger with the like & Magnentius with PLC not to mention others yt are supposed to have reference to our affairs, but have no inscriptions that relate to it; this account I draw out too hastily, but with a desire to serve you.'
