Draft letter from William Courten to Henry Hare, 2nd Baron Coleraine, 13 November 1694: 'Thanks him for the payment and advises he has ‘culled’ another ‘about 46’ including an Antony/Cleopatra ‘who seemeth to have been much iniuried by ye Monetarius, she having more the air of an Hermafrodite than of so beautiful a Lady as Historians relate her to have been, but however it was it is certain that the greatest part if not all the medals of this kind represent her with as hard features … Yor Lordshps Coniecture that the numbers in some medals of ye Maria [family] should denote so many househoulds setled in a colony is altogether new but very probable.
