'I cannot as yet have a sight of any Consular medals which you have not except my owne which are to the number of 400 & upward (contained in 4 small Boxes like that yor Lordshp had of me only they differ in colour these being red as the other is green), they are all well preserved many very choice, & all true ... If yor Lordshp has a mind to them you shall have them upon easier terms then I purchased them at, and this I can assure you they are all I could procure in the space of 20 years and I believe I may say that there are not so many so fair & genuine in any private hand in England.'
