'I am inclinabl to think that next summer I shall goe to Scotland in company with Monsieur Genevrier, the French king’s physician, who is printing an admirabl book, being the life of Carausius from medals, fasti, history, &c, where he makes him a lawful Emperor & a very great man. This history will be a very great complement to the British nation. ’Tis dedicated to our present Viceroy of Ireland, Ld Carteret.' (Edinburgh, National Records of Scotland, GD18/5023/3/12; Brown 1987, pp. 121-3; Burnett 2020b, p. 924)
