'Mr. [Edward] Hayes, governor of Landguard fort, in Norfolk, visited me. He showed me a great number of Roman coyns found there, it having been a Roman castrum; great numbers of silver ones; a silver Alectus among 'em, and that with the lupa lactans pueros.
